so i went into boston yesterday just so i could say that i actually went into boston during the year, and it got unexpectedly extended. until about 9:30 this morning. i was only planning on staying until around 10/12 ish, but i just barely missed the 10pm shuttle back to school, and then found out the hard way that the shuttle doesn’t actually meet right outside faneiul hall, but about a block down the road. just as the 2:15am shuttle left, which coincidentally was the last shuttle back to school.
and so, i spent the night aimlessly walking around boston trying not to get mugged, raped, shot at, stabbed, beaten, or arrested. which actually worked out quite well, since i came home intact with all of the things that i brought with me; plus a few things i bought. i also made the mistake of not going to the bathroom before every place that has a bathroom closed. which then made the journey very, very, very uncomfortable.
(if you want to know how uncomfortable it is, just drink a soda and a monster and then hold it for 7 and a half hours while walking around a city)
i really don’t understand why boston’s 24-hour convenient stores don’t have any public bathrooms. none. not a single one. i can understand take-out joints not having them, but 7-11? c’mon now, that’s not very convenient. and then of course they have those public bathrooms randomly in the middle of sidewalks that are also conveniently closed from 5pm to 7am.
ok, enough about bathrooms.
i knew from the get-go that boston would be like nyc in the sense that the united union of hobos would be wandering the streets looking for either a) money, b) food, c) cigarettes, or d) crack/pot/mary jane/whatever. i honest to God had someone try to sell me weed at 6am this morning. who the fuck sells weed at 6 in the morning? i’m guessing he was desperate for some money.
after pulling all-nighters, i’m usually about ready to pass out by now, but since i had caffeine before i left, i’m wired. but not for long, so i’ll probably be crashing at some point later on in the afternoon. woohoo.
